A Blackpool in the UK just returned the Sand, Sea & Spray Festival, an important event dedicated to street art. The city hosted it from 10 to 12 July 2015 after the great success of the first edition, which took place in 2013.
During the festival the street art works are carried out live in the places of the city that have been chosen for the event and in different points of the center of Blackpool. This year the appointment saw the participation of over 20 well known artists in the field of street art and from all over the world.
The street art works of Blackpool's Sand, Sea & Spray Festival were born in an attempt to regenerate some degraded areas of the city and to revive urban spaces with designs and colors, so that the streets of the city center are not synonymous with dullness.
The presence of famous artists in the three days of the festival allows citizens and visitors to experience the creative process linked to street art and to deal with it thanks to direct contact with the creators of the works.
On this occasion some outdoor spaces designed specifically for artists, so that they were free to make their own street art works in a completely legal way.
The festival gave visitors the opportunity to directly ask questions to the artists and to participate in a themed musical event hip hop. Once again, street art has helped make a city less gray and sad. The hope is that this festival will be repeated again next year.
