Street art: the new work of the Roman artist Laika is dedicated to the legalization of abortion in Argentina
In Rome, in via Torino, behind the Argentine embassy, a new work of street art has appeared by the artist Laika, "IT'S LAW!". It is a tribute to the legalization of abortion, just approved in the South American country.
Leika, in the caption accompanying the post published on Instagram, writes:
“Finally in Argentina a decades-long battle comes to an end but there is still a long way to go around the world. Only 60 countries allow free and legal access to abortion; only 37% of women of childbearing age live in countries where abortion is allowed without bans. Today we celebrate this important milestone to start again even stronger tomorrow. "
"Es Ley!" is inspired by the famous poster “We can do it!”, created in 1943 by J. Howard Miller, revisited by the artist in a modern way.
