Still ethylene oxide in yogurts, Carrefour recalls the batches contaminated by the pesticide

The recall from the shelves for some Carrefour-branded pistachio yogurt for the presence of ethylene oxide in an ingredient

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

The list of foods contaminated by ethylene oxide, the dangerous pesticide that more and more often ends up on our tables, is getting longer. The alarm is raised by the well-known supermarket chain Carrefour, which has decided to recall some batches of pistachio yogurt from the shelves as a precaution due to the "presence of ethylene oxide in an ingredient (carob seed flour)."

These are two products under the Carrefour Classic and Carrefour Sensation brands. The recalled yoghurts, produced by the Latte Montagna Alto Adige Soc. Agr. Coop., Are the following:

    • Whole yogurt with pistachio Carrefour Classic in format 2 × 125 grams, with the expiry dates 29/07/2021 (already passed), 13/08/2021, 20/08/2021 and 26/08/2021

The recall of foods containing locust bean gum containing ethylene oxide was ordered by the European Union. Carob seed flour is often used as a thickener and stabilizer in sweets, jams, ice creams and sweeteners. Just a few days ago a food recall took place for two other batches of Esselunga brand yogurt, also these products with carob seed flour, contaminated by ethylene oxide.

If you have purchased one of the lots in question, do not consume them and bring them back to the Carrefour store.
