Steve Marsh is an Australian farmer who boldly took to the field to say stop trangenica rapeseed and at contamination. His battle against GMOs Monsanto officially begins today, Monday 10 February 2014, with the opening of a trial in the Supreme Court of Western Australia. Steve Marsh could lose all his money due to the trial.

For this reason Safe Food Foundation kicked off one fundraising. Marsh is fighting to defend the right of all citizens to have GMO-free food available. The main problem concerns the contamination due to the presence of GM crops in the vicinity of the areas where there are fields managed according to theorganic farming.

Steve works as a farmer on an organic farm in Kojonup, Western Australia. In 2010, the government granted its authorization for the first time GM rapeseed cultivation for commercial purposes. Many farmers, including Marsh's neighbors, have started growing it.

In a short time, man found himself facing a serious problem of contamination of his crops and a constant spread of GM rapeseed plants on most of the land of his own. organic farm. The consequences for Marsh turned out to be very serious. 70% of his land was found to be contaminated by GMOs and his farm has lost its organic certification.

Monsanto is free from any liability with regards to GMO contamination. But instead of accepting what happened, Steve Marsh decided to take his neighbor to court so that he could receive a compensation of losses and damages suffered. This is the only possible way to get justice. However, the GM farmer is supported by a lobby that acts in defense of Monsanto and genetically modified organisms.

This is the first case in the world where an organic farmer decides to claim compensation to a GMO farmer for the damage suffered, as their rights have been violated by biotech crops. His battle arose first of all in defense of the rights of his compatriots to consume uncontaminated food.

The food labeling system in Australia would be so unreliable as to force consumers to buy organic products to avoid GMOs. Marsh never wanted to drag his neighbor to court. But not being able to bring his charges directly against Monsanto, he has decided to take advantage of this only way out. The costs for the process are very high and for this Safe Food Foundation has started a fundraiser. If the GM faction wins, Australia's organic citizens and farmers could lose every right to have available safe and uncontaminated food.
