Like every year, the pollen arrives on time in March and with them the much hated spring allergies which begin with the first beautiful days but can last several months. This year, among other things, thanks to a decidedly dancing climate and an early spring, it seems that the pollens will arrive early.
Experts recommend working on prevention right away. In particular Roberto Perricone, director of graduate school of allergology and immunology of the University of Tor Vergata, declared: “the data received from allergy clinics in the Lazio region confirm the prevalence of 'cupressacae' allergies which are unlikely to occur this month. I recommend to resort to hyposensitizing preventive therapy today. Cypress allergy is an emerging pollinosis because lately the plant has spread very widely in the urban areas of the Mediterranean basin, in particular in the last 15-20 years the number has progressively increased ”.
Symptoms that occur in case allergy are very common: colds, asthma, cough, conjunctivitis, etc. but in some situations, such as the emerging cypress allergy, they can become more serious and difficult to control with anti-histamine therapies.
