Solar Cube: the water purifier with photovoltaic panels that goes for everything… sun!

the US company Spectra Watermakers has designed a solar-powered water purifier, or rather, with 24-volt batteries powered by solar panels. The invention, renamed Solar Cube (it looks like a cube), is able to purify about 1400 liters of water every hour. The cycle is divided as follows: the water is first pumped into a series of filters that remove the debris, after which, it is filtered by osmosis by eight membranes, which purify it at an ionic level from bacteria, viruses and dangerous chemicals.

One of the biggest problems rescuers face during a natural disaster, is that of finding thedrinking water. Often in fact, in the case of earthquake, flood or else, especially in already difficult areas such as Africa or Southeast Asia, the population finds itself from one day to the next without the usual supply of drinking water, and is therefore forced to drink from rivers, canals, lakes or polluted wells. The most common outcome in these cases is an outbreak of cholera.

To remedy what is called the "second wave of deaths", the US company Spectra Watermakers has devised a water purifier a solar power, or rather, a 24 volt batteries powered by solar panels. The invention, renamed Solar Cube (it looks like a cube), it is able to purify about 1400 liters of water every hour. The cycle is divided as follows: the water is first pumped into a series of filters that remove the debris, after which, it is filtered by osmosis by eight membranes, which purify it at an ionic level from bacteria, virus e chemical agents dangerous.

Not only. Solar Cube is able to function as a small one desalination plant, obtaining from the brackish water of normal fresh water. It is clear that such a device, independent of fossil sources and connection to electricity, can solve difficult emergency situations - isolated refugee camps - but also help those farmers who have difficulty in finding water for the harvest. Furthermore, according to the producers, theautonomy of Solar Cube is superior to that of other traditional purifiers, given that the pumping technology requires a low electrical potential. Our army is among the first to try it, "in case of emergency and natural disasters". And let's hope it's a useless purchase.
