The soap can then be left to air dry for 4 to 8 weeks and cut into round slices, preferably before curing is complete, so that the operation is easier. These molds are not good for hot soaps and soaps that contain milk or honey.

2) Ice containers

The soap can be poured directly into the ice containers, to be stored at room temperature, preferably protected by a blanket, to facilitate the first resting phase of the soap. 3) Yogurt jars

4) Saucers

7) Cake molds

The cake pans, in silicone or other non-metallic materials, no longer used in the kitchen can find new life for home soap preparation. With the most particular molds it will be possible to obtain truly original soaps, particularly resembling real sweets. Thanks to the softer molds, the extraction of the soap is easier. Do not use metal or Pyrex glass or ceramic molds as they are not suitable.

8) Wine boxes

For those who want a ready-made wooden mold, perfect for the preparation of soaps and perhaps already equipped with a lid, it will be sufficient to equip yourself to recover one of the Boxes usually used to contain the wine bottles, especially if the latter have been packaged for a gift. In order not to damage the container and to facilitate the extraction of the soap, it is possible to cover both the wine boxes and other types of molds with baking paper.

9) Molds for the beach

In the same way as cake pans or other plastic molds, it is possible to recover for the home preparation of soap from beach molds no longer used. If the soap struggles to come off, put them in the freezer for a couple of hours and try again.

A useful way to reuse packs in Tetra pak consists in using them as soap molds. Packages of any size are suitable, provided that their internal aluminum coating is covered with a plastic film, to avoid unwanted reactions with the soda. You will thus obtain soap molds at no cost, to be used by opening their cap (or only one corner) to pour the still liquid soap and to be opened with a knife to be able to extract the solidified soap. Do not use these molds for hot soaps or those that contain milk and honey.
