Skarti creazioni: a creative recycling project with the reuse of cutlery
He is about to end up run over, his mother saves himThrough a creative recycling project, Alice and Ombretta give life to objects made with old cutlery and waste objects.
Alice and Ombretta are two sisters, they live in the Sicilian hinterland, precisely in Piazza Armerina, and they have a passion: to recycle and reuse waste to make original creations.
Skarti creazioni, therefore, comes from the talent of two girls who respectively deal with furniture restoration, creative recycling, reuse and then of arrangements for weddings and events, favors and accessories.
Skarti has already existed for several years and, on and off, engages the two women in the creation of objects with the use of old cutlery, recovered here and there.
It all began a few years ago, when, engaged in the summer season of Lampedusa, the two young women were looking for an idea to make small gadgets in the shape of a turtle, the symbol of the island.

From there the intuition to use spoons, forks and knives. Thus was born the “posarte” project, that is the art of folding cutlery.

The project gradually took shape and today Alice tells it like this:
“The subjects we represent are real, mostly flowers and animals, but I also made the house with balloons from the movie Up, of which I am very proud. The procedure is very simple, we make the creations at home. We are gearing up for a real workshop, but the difficulty of working at home gave us the idea of doing tutorials, because it is something that really everyone can do, who knows what equipment is not needed. I fold the cutlery with various types of pliers, metal glue to join the various pieces and wire to give harmony, strength and add details. Then I treat the object and proceed to spray coloring with metal paints ".
Among the many projects in the pipeline, Alice and Ombretta are thinking of an online store and a blog, which will soon be available online.
