"In recent months - said Minister Prestigiacomo - I had publicly requested the removal of the secret and after all the documents on the system had always been delivered to all the authorities who had requested them: from the Court of Auditors to the Tar, from the Pecorella Commission to the ordinary judiciary. Transparency is an essential requirement for administrative action for us, even more so in the start-up phase of a system that has as its main objective that of helping to make legality prevail in a sector such as that of waste, object of the attention of organized crime ". During the visit, the parliamentarians visited the control room, the call center and the operations room of the Noe, and witnessed a simulation of the entire process of traceability of waste.
All quiet, therefore, controversy over on Sistri? Apparently not. There are still some aftermath of theentrusted to the Finmeccanica company, which took place without carrying out a public tender, but with direct assignment. But, above all, as already announced, some associations of road hauliers are considering legal actions against the Ministry of the Environment.
La CNA-Fitain fact, after verifying the feasibility of the legal action, he intends to ask for the reimbursement of the contributions paid for the start of the SISTRi. A start that, however, has undergone numerous extensions and will only come into effect with the new year. The FIta CNa therefore began to ask the represented companies for all the documentation certifying the payment of the contributions and then started the collective action, the so-called class action.
"We have just given notice to our local offices and we have already been overwhelmed by requests for reimbursements" - he said Cinzia Franchini, national president of FITa CNA. “The theme - continued Franchini - is deeply felt by companies that feel cheated in a time of dramatic liquidity crisis. The position of the CNA-Fita was also received by the Unatras unitary coordination which made further requests to the Government: to align the Sistri platform to the community directive that motivated it by restricting the scope of its operations to only hazardous waste. Extend the compulsory membership of the system also to those foreign operators who would otherwise operate in clear violation of the competition rules.
President Franchini reiterated that CNA-Fita is ready to engage in (legal) battle and assert the injured rights of its associates, unless the Government reimburses the stolen goods through possibly the tax credit or decides for a just exclusion, for those who have already paid, from the payment of the contribution for the current year and for that of 2012.
In the next few days the Association will ask to be audited by the Environment Commission of the Chamber and the Senate and will take action to ask for a meeting with the Minister of the Environment Prestigiacomo.
