Single and universal check 2022: here are the mistakes not to make when applying

Boom of questions to obtain the single allowance for children. But pay attention to the IBAN and the ISEE model entered at the time of the application

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

Since last January 1st, thesingle and universal check, a benefit aimed at families who have dependent children under the age of 21 and which translates into a monthly allowance paid by INPS. The amount of the benefit varies depending on the age and number of dependent children, the possible presence of disabled children, the income declared through the presentation of the ISEE form.

There is a boom in questions on the website of the National Institute of Social Security, which with a press release clarifies some points relating to the presentation of the request for the single check, to ensure that the applications arrive correctly to the institution that will deposit on the bank account of the applicants the established amount.

The current account

First of all, the holder of the current account identified by the IBAN code specified in the application must also be the applicant for the single check. INPS will not be able to credit the check on the current account of a person other than the person submitting the application; the only exception to this clause concerns the possibility of an account jointly held by the applicant for the single check (it is not enough to be delegated to collect it).

In this regard, the applicant's tax code must correspond to that of the holder of the bank account indicated for the credit. Finally, it is necessary that the current account on which the credit of the single check is requested is actually active and correctly registered (or jointly registered) to the applicant for the service.

The ISEE Model

Another sore point concerns the delivery of the ISEE form to obtain the single check. As already explained, it is not mandatory to present the ISEE form to access the benefit - but in that case you will get the minimum allowance, i.e. 50 euros for each dependent child. By presenting your ISEE, on the other hand, you will be entitled to an increase in the allowance, based on the income bracket in which you are.

But what is the ISEE that must be presented when applying to have access to the single check? It is necessary to provide a valid ISEE, then the one relating to the year 2022: the ISEE model expires on December 31 of each year - which is why last year's one is no longer valid for submitting this application.

The INPS site has made a section available to users in which it is possible, anonymously and free of charge, to easily calculate your single allowance: just enter some data - such as the number and age of children, ISEE income, attendance dependent disabled children - and the calculator will provide a result in seconds.
