Starting from 1 January it is possible to submit an application to take advantage of the economic benefit of the 2022 Single Check, a measure set up by the Government to support families with children under the age of 21. The allowance is not a single measure for everyone, but varies according to the ISEE value presented at the time of the application and based on the presence of dependent children. Let's see who is entitled to this economic benefit and how to submit the application.

Single check: what it is
With the law n. 46 of 2021, the Government has chosen to simplify and strengthen the economic measures in support of dependent children through the institution of a universal allowance: in practice, this is an economic benefit attributed on a monthly basis for the period between March of each year and February of the following year, to families on the basis of the economic condition of the nucleus, based on the indicator of the equivalent economic situation (ISEE).
The allowance is available to all families with children under the age of 21, regardless of the working conditions of the parents (unemployed, unemployed, earners of citizenship income, employees, self-employed and pensioners) and without limits of income. However, it is not the same for everyone, but has an amount commensurate with the ISEE (which is presented at the time of requesting the benefit). It is possible to apply for the check even without presenting the ISEE - in this case, you will benefit from the minimum check.
How to submit the application
To take advantage of the single check, it is necessary to submit an application to INPS (also through one's own patronage of trust). Applications can be submitted starting from 1 January 2022 and there are no deadlines for their submission: obviously, making the request in the first weeks of January will give the possibility, if the benefit is granted, to be able to take advantage of it starting from March 2022 and until February 2023 (in any case, all applications submitted by June 30 of each year still give the right to back arrears from March).
To access the INPS portal, the recognition through the SPID digital identity andself-certification of some basic information which: composition of the family unit and number of children; place of residence of family members; IBAN of one or both parents (on which the check will be paid). The application may or may not be accompanied by the ISEE declaration, which is necessary to obtain a full allowance commensurate with the economic situation of the family.
Single check: how much is it worth
For families with an ISEE income of less than 15.000 euros, a basic allowance of 175 euros is due for each minor child. The value of the allowance decreases as the ISEE rises up to a minimum of 50 euros per month for each child under the age of 21 (for ISEE equal to or greater than 40.000 euros or in the case of undeclared ISEE). Surcharges can be added to these basic figures for:
- each child after the second;
- large families;
- children with disabilities;
- mothers under the age of 21;
- households with two income earners.

Furthermore, from 18 to 21 years of age, the amount recognized will be 85 euros, but it will be necessary for the child to undertake study, work or training courses in order to benefit from it.
