Food alert and product recall. A batch of anchovy fillets has been withdrawn from the shelves of the Simply Market, a supermarket chain of the Auchan group, for high levels of histamine detected.
Withdrawal from stores refers to Anchovy fillets in olive oil 46G Simply products for Sma Spa by Iconsitt. Only the anchovy fillets in olive oil belonging to the LOT: 14079 expiring 09/2015.
The cause of the withdrawal concerns the presence of elevated histamine levels in the product packaging. Histamine is a substance that is produced by our body during allergic reactions, but it can also be taken from the outside. In high doses this type of substance from outside could lead to unwanted reactions.
This is a problem that should not be underestimated and for this reason Simply Market has decided to start one recall campaign on its website and to provide consumers with a toll-free number. Giovanni d'Agata, president of the Rights Desk, recommends consumers to do not consume the product if they had bought it and bring it back to the point of sale for a replacement.
Simply Market has invited its consumers, as a precaution, not to consume the product by providing return it to one of the points of sale and issued a press release on the matter.
