But more of the extraterrestrials, to worry are any explosive cocktails of methane or shale gas, these hypotheses are far more probable.
Not forgetting the possibility that it was melting of the permafrost due to climate change and the global rise in temperatures to cause a release of methane gas. Scientists, however, are not unbalanced and wait to carry out some more in-depth studies before establishing the cause.
What is certain is that there are now two other craters in Siberia, one with a diameter of about 15 meters near the village of Antipayuta with one lake at a depth of about 70 meters, and the other having the shape of a perfect cone.

Mikhail Lapsui, a deputy in the regional parliament, the Duma, examined the latter phenomenon by flying by helicopter to inspect the cone on Saturday 19 July, the day after the discovery. “There is also earth on the outside, as if it had been thrown from an underground explosion,” he says.
