In reality, a new research has highlighted the exact opposite: among the advantages not to be underestimated that those who are used to sharing a bedroom with the family dog ​​find is the possibility of rest better and longer.

    To arrive at this result, the experts examined a group of 5 healthy adults without sleep disorders for 40 months, all of whom were dog owners but not all shared a bed or at least a room with their 4-legged friends. The aim of the research was to evaluate sleep quality based on their sleeping arrangements.

    While they slept, both human and animal participants wore some devices that could track their sleep patterns.

    After analyzing the results, the researchers were confronted with the fact that those who kept their dogs in the bedroom experienced better sleep quality than those who did not. The same room it does not mean, however, also the same bed. The benefits were in fact found only in those who shared the room, when instead "Fido" slipped under the covers, sleep was more disturbed.


    Lois Krahn, lead author of the study, commented on the results:


    “Most people believe that having pets in the bedroom is a nuisance. We have found instead that many people find it comfortable and feel a sense of security when they sleep with their pets ”.
