This is Scrubba, a new gadget that could rightfully enter our list of the ten ecological washing machine prototypes, with the difference that Scrubba is already a reality.
The project was funded through the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo and the portable washing machine is currently located internationally via the website dedicated to it. The pocket washing machine has been specially designed for all those who like to dedicate themselves to trekking and camping, and therefore need a practical and light to carry to be able to devote himself to the laundry.
Scrubba consists of a waterproof and foldable bag, easily transportable. Its use allows you to limit the amount of clothes for changing to put in your backpack, considerably lightening the weight. The pocket washing machine was born from an idea of the Australian Ashley Newlandwhile he was busy climbing Kilimanjaro.
How is Scrubba used for washing clothes? The pocket washing machine must be filled with little water and with a few drops of detergent for laundry - but, according to its creator, shampoo or shower gel are also suitable. The items to be washed must be placed inside it. The waterproof bag is then closed and placed on a rigid surface. The time has come to rub everything with your hands, as if you were doing the laundry by hand on a special board.
Scrubba is considered to be a real one evolution of hand laundry, readjusted to the twenty-first century and made within the reach of those who frequently travel to isolated places and who wish to avoid wasting water and minimize the consumption of detergents.
Although Scrubba was primarily designed for lovers of trekking and camping, its use could also be useful for those who find themselves living without access to electricity or simply that they are lacking the necessary space to devote himself to hand washing with board and sink, as was the case in the past.
