The ability to access electricity is unevenly distributed throughout the world. Now is the time to find new solutions. Among the proposals to illuminate the house without electricity we find Salt, a lamp that works only with water and salt.
Salt would be able to bring light to a room for 8 hours starting with just a cup of salt water, for example from sea water. The idea came from the minds of three engineers and a designer who want to change the world.
Salt water would allow this lamp to work smoothly. If we think aboutsea water, here we have a natural substance, non-dangerous and non-flammable.
Thanks to sea water, the creators of the project made sure that the electrodes of a battery react with the ions of the salt to produce energy. Salt is proposed as one alternative solution lighting dedicated above all to the inhabitants of the Developing countries.
The team, led by Aisa Mijeno, he wanted to create something that was cheap, easy to use and reliable even for people living in the remotest regions of the world. The idea was born in the Philippines where the problem of lack of access to electricity is still present.
The energy produced by the lamp can be used also to recharge mobile phones. Having a phone available in an area like the Philippines could be crucial in the event of an emergency caused by typhoons and earthquakes.
