It's time for peppers, the undisputed protagonists on our tables in the summer. These vegetables, rich in antioxidants and vitamins, lend themselves to numerous recipes. Among the most popular of all we find roasted peppers. Not everyone, however, has a barbecue and a garden or balcony in which to roast them. This does not mean that you have to give up the pleasure of tasting roasted peppers. There are two valid alternatives to do this: the oven and the air fryer. Let's find out some tricks and the recipe to prepare them to perfection.

How to make oven roasted peppers

Ingredients (for two people)

  • 4 peppers (of the variety you prefer)
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • parsley
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • a pinch of salt
  • vinegar (if you like)
  • a food or paper bag (for example the one for bread) 

First wash and dry the peppers thoroughly and in the meantime turn on the oven at 200 ° for a few minutes. Arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake them in the oven for about 35 minutes at 180 °, turning them a couple of times to obtain a more uniform cooking. Once cooked, take them out and place them still hot in a food bag or alternatively the paper bag used for bread. Let them rest for about 10 minutes. In this way, the steam that forms inside will help you to remove the skin more easily. When you have peeled them, cut them into strips and season with oil, a few cloves of garlic, vinegar and parsley. If you like it, you can also add a little vinegar.

How to prepare roasted peppers with the air fryer

Ingredients (for two people)

  • 4 peppers (of the variety you prefer)
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • parsley
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • a pinch of salt
  • vinegar (if you like)
  • a food or paper bag (for example the one for bread) 

Wash the peppers well and dry them gently. Transfer them to the basket of the air fryer. Cook at 200 ° for about twenty minutes, remembering to turn them a couple of times halfway through cooking. Once cooked, close them while they are still hot in a food bag and leave them there for ten minutes to let the steam act which will help you to peel them. After that, all that remains is to season them with oil, parsley, a little salt, a few cloves of garlic and vinegar if you like. You will see what goodness!
