Ricicliadi: in Puglia the municipalities compete in the recycling Olympics

Registration for Ricicliadi has started, the recycling Olympics dedicated to the municipalities of Salento that will compete with differentiated waste collection

As we know, differentiating waste can give a valid help to the health of our planet; all of us in our daily lives can make our contribution, but even more can the public administrations. And if there is a competition which is giving away cash prizes to be allocated to the collection differentiated, then even better. This is why the project was born Recycle, conceived and promoted by Consortium ATO Lecce 3 , consisting of 24 municipalities in the province of Lecce with the main purpose of regulate the entire cycle of municipal waste in accordance with the provisions of the Regional Management Plan.

 

The competition includes one challenge between the consortium municipalities that, from April 1, 2010 to May 31, 2010, will fight to increase the separate collection of paper, plastic, glass e aluminum, in a "last gram" race that will involve citizens and public administrations. The winning municipality will receive a prize 15.000 €, to the runner-up 10.000 € and to the third 5.000 €. All the sums won must be used to reduce waste production and encourage separate collection, both through the purchase of special equipment and through information and awareness campaigns.

A project formative for 26 children residing in the Municipalities of the Consortium: this is a training course for technicians of the environment, professional figures able to operate through awareness-raising activities and planning of environmental education initiatives.

  schools children of the territory will instead be called to design and create a logo, a slogan and, by choice, a short film or a television and radio spot on the theme: "A healthy environment is life, recycling is an indispensable value for the well-being of all". This is in fact the theme of the competition "R as ... recycling", which provides cash prizes to be used always in the context of education on the reuse of waste within the schools themselves.

An initiative that partly incorporates the most famous Cartoons organized by Comieco and which aims to raise awareness among citizens of the importance of a correct conferment of waste, a simple gesture from which an important new resource can be born every day.
