For over 20 years the Cambridge University Library had desperately launched appeals on the web and not to be able to recover two precious notebooks belonging to Charles Darwin that had been stolen in January 2001. One of these contained the famous sketch of thetree of Life, from which the English naturalist elaborated his theory of evolution.

On Youtube, the doctor and librarian Jessica Gardner had expressed her enormous displeasure, asking everyone's help to be able to find the two notebooks that date back to the first half of the nineteenth century, that is to the period in which Darwin returned from the Galapagos Islands.

The prestigious university immediately got in touch with the British police forces, with a whole series of associations of antique dealers and experts from all over the world, hoping that someone had thought of reselling those notes so famous, but nothing.

In March, however, the turning point that no one now believed possible. Someone left in the Cambridge library a pink rule envelope with a package inside. In the package, carefully wrapped, there were the two notebooks with their original boxes.

Not much is known about who returned them, but after two decades the notebooks have finally returned "to their home".

The travel notebooks weren't the only thing Dr. Gardner found, in fact a message was printed on the package addressed to her:

    Happy Easter librarian
