He is about to end up run over, his mother saves himIn the wake of the growing success of the nutraceutical, portmanteau born from the union of "nutrition" and "pharmaceutical", was born in Abruzzo in the Fucino plain the dark-fleshed carrot, or "purple carrot".
This was announced by Confagricoltura, recalling that the carrot, in reality, was born of a black color, probably in Afghanistan, and that only in 1500 it became orange by the Dutch, the largest seed producers in the world.
Just as the super tomato promises to fight theaging thanks to the massive presence of lycopene, the "supercarota"Dark pulp promises effects anti-inflammatory, antioxidants and anticarcinogens thanks to the high concentration of polyphenols, substances able to prevent the oxidation of lipoproteins and to fight the free radicals.
The original purple carrot was born from an avant-garde Abruzzo horticultural company, associated with Confartigianato, which also produces "concentrates of carrots and red turnips that the industry uses as natural dyes - he explains Alessandro Aureli, owner of the Abruzzo company that has become famous for the "color" of its vegetables - beet pulp for sweetening and the "naturally gluten-free" line for celiac (carrot, corn and buckwheat flour) ".
But there are not only purple carrots in the Fucino countryside, but also yellow carrots, rich in lutein for those with eye problems, and the more classic orange ones, rich in beta-carotene.
They will soon arrive as well the red ones and the white ones. In short, carrots of all colors to "cure" or prevent various diseases.
“Our goal is to enhance all the typical production of the Fucino plain in the direction of well-being”, Aureli adds, confirming how much the demand for “super” vegetables by the agri-food industry is constantly growing.
