Psychotria Elata: the plant with kissable lips

    With its iridescent red color it attracts pollinating insects, including butterflies and hummingbirds. But that's not what makes Psychotria Elata special, but the fact that its bracts resemble two plump, plump lips. For this reason it is also affectionately nicknamed Mick Jagger's lips, because it recalls the logo depicting the mouth and tongue that has become the Symbol of the Rolling Stones.

    Also called "Hot kiss plant" and "Hooker Lips", it is native to tropical rainforests of many countries of Central and South America, such as Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama and Ecuador and has this characteristic form of full mouth only for a short time, before they open to reveal the plant's flowers.
