Also called "Hot kiss plant" and "Hooker Lips", it is native to tropical rainforests of many countries of Central and South America, such as Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama and Ecuador and has this characteristic form of full mouth only for a short time, before they open to reveal the plant's flowers.

Unfortunately, however, this extraordinary flower risks imminent extinction, due to deforestation uncontrolled in areas where it is widespread.
