Let's think about how difficult a life can be child who needs one prosthesis to the limbs. How to improve the quality of life of the little ones? A new initiative involves the famous building bricks in the creation of customized prostheses.

It is a project ofInstitute of Design of Umea Universityin Sweden, conceived by researcher Carlos Arturo Torres Tovar. The initiative focuses on children's creativity and their passion for LEGO bricks.

It is important that ai children in distress due to a physical disability they are not denied the opportunity to play and have fun. Being able to create a part of your prosthesis in a creative way and, above all, by playing, could facilitate greater acceptance of a certainly delicate situation.

The beauty of the project is that children can customize the prostheses as they like thanks to the colored bricks. At the moment the experiment is about arm prostheses. Children can make an appendix with LEGO bricks.

So the little ones will no longer have to "settle for" the classic pliers that replace the fingers but will be able to build whatever they want thanks to a special hook that joins the creation with bricks to the prosthesis. The basic goal is that thanks to the game, children can play down the situation and find relief with play in a difficult situation that has suddenly changed their lives.
