    Hence the idea of ​​transforming fruit that has passed the point of perfect ripeness into powdered food in order to keep it for a long time and make it available for food without wasting it unnecessarily.

    Thus the project was born FoPo Food Powder. The company that deals with it collects overripe products and transforms them into powder per extend their duration by 2 years. The main objective of the project is the commitment to stop food waste and hunger in the world.

    No new products or advanced technologies are needed to take this initiative forward. It simply returns new value to food items that would otherwise go to waste. The business is currently expanding to different types of overripe fruit and vegetables.

    At the time it was made of powdered food in three flavors: banana, raspberry and mango. A new pineapple powder will be born soon. These products maintain 30% to 80% of the nutritional value of fresh fruit and can be used in yogurt, ice cream and smoothies.

    The project got underway thanks to a campaign by crowdfunding su Kickstarter which has achieved great success. Campaign supporters will soon receive the powdered products made for them to be tasted.

    These products will soon arrive in supermarkets and online stores and can also be used by companies, for example to incorporate them as ingredients in smoothies and fruit juices.

    THEdrying è one of the most ancient conservation methodsthe. It is a pity that overripe fruits and vegetables are wasted every day around the world in untold quantities. This idea could seriously reduce the food waste of companies and supermarkets and provide products that are still valid thanks to drying. We will see if the project takes hold on a large scale.
