The easy recipe to prepare pomegranate jam at home starting from the juice, without added sugar and artificial thickeners

Sweetened only with a little bit of stevia (and therefore also suitable for those suffering from diabetes). this autumn preserve is low in calories and perfect for breakfast or a snack, spread on a slice of homemade bread or to accompany very aged cheeses.

For the preparation of our pomegranate jam we have chosen to use only the juice - obtained with a simple citrus juicer, (but it is also possible to use the extractor or the special juice squeezer) for a more compact result without "seeds".

  • 900 gr of pomegranate juice
  • 3 teaspoons of stevia
  • 300 g of apples already cleaned
  • Preparation Time:

How to prepare pomegranate jam: procedure

  • To cut halve the pomegranates and squeeze them, then filter the juice with a fine mesh strainer and put it in a saucepan,
  • cut the diced apple and add it to the pot together with the stevia,
  • iniziare to cook gently and, when foam forms on the surface, remove it with a slotted spoon.
  • continue to cook over low heat, taking care to mix the mixture often, blend it to obtain a puree and
  • when this has thickened, remove it from the heat and 
  • transfer it in previously sanitized jars,
  • Finally, close tightly with the cap 
 

How to preserve pomegranate jam

The pomegranate jam must be kept in the pantry away from sunlight; once opened, it must be placed in the refrigerator and consumed within a few days.
