Photovoltaic: the Pozza company patents the first solar-powered playground that lights up on its own

Play also needs energy. Not only that of the children running from one side to the other, but also that of the lighting and management of the rides. And so the Pozza company in Recoaro Terme, in the province of Vicenza, has seen fit to design and sell a model of a solar-powered playground, where small photovoltaic panels are installed on the roofs of slides and houses.

The game, as we know, needs to energia. Not only that of the children running from one side to the other, but also that of thelighting and the management of Rides. And so the Pozza company of Recoaro Terme, in the province of Vicenza, has seen fit to design and sell a model of playground powered by solar energy, where small photovoltaic panels are installed on the roofs of slides and houses.

As you may recall, something similar had already been devised by Ananya Tantia, a student of Industrial Design at Rhode Island School, but in this case it was kinetic energy.

La Pozza instead focuses onsolar power: in the intentions of the Vicenza companyenergia accumulated during the day (and stored in special battery) will then be used overnight for light up the play area at the same time, prevent vandalism. How? Simple: the same electric energy will serve to power a closed circuit of video cameras and alarms of various types. But the applications are actually very many, if not infinite. In fact, the project provides for the possibility of installing electrical sockets for recharging mobile phones, laptop, mp3 players, etc., or the possibility of using part of the energy to illuminate the same games, with very fun lighting effects.

In short, it is an interesting idea, which applies the concept of to an everyday environment environmental sustainability, increasingly requested by European citizens and beyond. And apparently the orders were not long in coming (a playground of this type was even ordered from municipality of Athens). Furthermore, the territorial reality of the project should be noted, with photovoltaic panels provided by the company Kyocera e energy accumulators produced by Fiamm, both from Vicenza. The only bitter note is perhaps the hypothesis of installing "sound alarms for the improper use of games and equipment" ... a hypothesis that has a vaguely Orwellian flavor, especially if you think about video cameras.
