Permaculture grows on the web and becomes open source

The principles of permaculture are ready to land in detail on the web thanks to an Open Source resource in English currently under preparation. It will be a collection of guides, documents and instruction manuals for everyone, so that anyone who has a garden at their home can try to transform at least part of it into a permaculture vegetable garden, a sort of miniature ecosystem in which plants and small living beings will be able to live together for a very long time.

The principles of permaculture are ready to land on the web in detail thanks to a Open Source resource in English currently under preparation. It will be a collection of guides, documents and instruction manuals within everyone's reach, so that anyone with a garden at their home can try atshaping at least part of it in a permaculture garden, a kind of ecosystem in miniature in which plants and small living beings can live together for a very long time.

The creator of the project is the Pragese Sophia Novack, author of audiovisual documentaries, environmentalist and for some time engaged in the study and application of the principles of permaculture, in order to transform cultivable but unused urban spaces into real food resources for citizens. In the last two years Sophia has been involved in the management of two web spaces, Permaculture Media Blog and Permaculture Directory, through which she has undertaken to collect the best resources on the subject, which, made available to all internet users, have pushed month after month more and more people to venture intopermaculture universe.

Permaculture aims to design vegetable gardens and gardens completely in harmony with the ecosystem that welcomes them and with the human activities that revolve around them. Sophia wishes to demonstrate how such a goal can be achieved by anyone who has the time and the will necessary for the realization of a long-lasting project that can give enormous satisfaction, which will be even more significant if one thinks of transforming one's garden into one. sharing space. The garden will be able to produce the necessary for its own sustenance, but it could generate a surplus of food resources to be distributed within your network of contacts and friendships.

Sophia's project includes the creation of a Free eBook about 400 pages to complete disposition of network users, which will have the title of “Urban Permaculture Guide eBook” and will cover topics such as the composting, the collection of rainwater for irrigation of the garden, the creation of vertical gardens and vegetable gardens on the balcony in permaculture, the cultivation of mushrooms, aromatic and medicinal herbs, and more. The creation of the eBook will be accompanied by the launch of a web resource for further study called “Open Source Permaculture Q&A Website + Wiki”. It will be managed by a group of experts on the subject, who will make their knowledge available to anyone who needs help for the realization of an effective and functional project.

Sophia decided to finance her project through a fundraising campaign online, hosted by Indiegogo, thanks to which almost 10mila U.S. dollars. Those who have decided to financially support the project, will be rewarded with handmade artistic creations or receive the honor of seeing a tree planted in his own name at "The Wolf Private Nature Reserve", in Slovakia.
