Black is the color of elegance par excellence that is never missing in any wardrobe. And if this color is so loved because it can be combined with everything and able to streamline the body with some precautions, it is also true that its intensity tends to fade slowly with washes.

To keep the color alive and take care of our dark garments in a sustainable way, just add one of these remedies to be chosen before washing:

1. half a cup of baking soda, a powerful ally to eliminate stubborn stains and bad smells as well as revive colors;
2. half a cup of saland to fix the color and remove sweat marks;
3. a glass of 20% water and citric acid solution which in addition to being a natural softener preserves the black.

What about garments that have already faded?

To return black clothes or dark garments already discolored to their original color without using artificial colors, just add after washing, during the rinse cycle,  a full cup of American coffee or black tea.

Other tips:

• Dark garments should be washed not with all the other colors, always inside out, at low temperatures and with a delicate program.
• Among other things, it would be preferable to use a liquid soap rather than a powder one, as this is deposited on the garments making them appear opaque and not dissolving completely in water.
• Also pay attention to the way in which you put dark garments to dry, these should be hung upside down to prevent the sun from discoloring them after all the precautions taken.
