A harrowing scene, it seems almost unbelievable that someone could be capable of such an act of cruelty, abandoning a disabled and vulnerable animal but it really happened in Salta, Argentina.
Lunita was left on the street face down in his wheelchair, unable to move, along with one bag of diapers.
A video shared by Animal Shelters Near Me shows the conditions in which the little girl was found. Thankfully, a passerby noticed her and contacted LUBA Salta, a rescue organization, who took her to a local veterinary clinic, where the animal was treated. She was also given a new wheelchair which allowed her to walk again.
The dog was also able to find a family to adopt him but unfortunately, after a short time, Lunita was brought back to the organization that had taken care of the adoption.
Fortunately, another American family stepped in and took care of her. Lunita has regained her life that she had previously been denied, surrounded by other dogs, loved and with a lot of time spent outdoors thanks to the bespoke wheelchair that helped her move.
His happy story, however, ends here. As she was beginning to feel comfortable and settling in with her new adoptive family, her dog became ill and after a month of hospitalization in the intensive care unit of the local university hospital she died.
“I'll never forget it and how much it meant to me. She changed my life forever. I loved her so much ”wrote the woman who adopted and welcomed her.
Lunita's last year of life was the best I've ever had. This brave dog taught us that in addition to our faults, we should never settle and hope for happiness.
