In Indonesia le forests continue to burn. Flames devour trees and a cloud of smoke and ash ravages Southeast Asia. The life of the orangutans is increasingly in danger.

Human activities continue to threaten ecosystems and the survival of animals without taking into account that the destruction of the planet and its negative consequences will also affect us.

The situation is repeated every year in Indonesia and becomes unbearable between August and October, months that are now nicknamed "the smoking season". Forests are being burned mainly to make way for oil palm plantations.

The negative effects are incredible. Every year the toxic cloud it expands to neighboring countries and kills 110 people by releasing thousands of tons of CO2 into the air, as he points out Greenpeace.

The fires are now advancing towards the forests of Borneo and become a threat to one third of the wild orangutans still present on our planet. The world's largest population of wild orangutans lives in the Borneo forest.

The situation is very serious and unfortunately seems out of control. The interests of companies aim to enrich themselves with the production of Palm oil and cellulose and do not take into account the devastating consequences for humans, animals and the environment of forest fires.

The association Orangutan Tropical Peatland Project has raised the new alarm and launched a fundraising campaign to save the orangutans on its website.
