He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

If you thought you saw them all, check out this video. A dog is placed in a wolf cage. Welcome, so to speak, to the Xiangwushan Zoo in the Chinese province of Hubei. A clumsy attempt to get a Rottweiler for a wolf?

This zoo, located in central China, has stunned visitors. To accept that there was a Rottweiler in the cage of the wolves was a man, who filmed the scene. The video immediately went viral and shows a visitor to Xiangwushan Zoo in Xianning as he approaches the wolf enclosure.

The shot focuses on the animal that looks like everything except a wolf: it is a Rottweiler lying on its side inside the cage. The video went around the world, also sparking numerous controversies.

Mr. Xu, who made the video, told Beijing News that he asked park staff why there was a dog in the wolf's cage. He was told that the previous tenant, a real wolf, had "died of old age". A zoo employee further explained that the Rottweiler was the park's watchdog and would only be kept in a cage temporarily. Small consolation. In any case, whether it is one or the other, the scene still arouses indignation.

Here the movie:

This is not the first time this has happened. On other occasions, zoos have attempted to provide wild animal substitutes. In 2019, similar video footage showed a dog in a wolf enclosure in Jiufengshan Forest Park in nearby Wuhan city. In 2017, a zoo in southern Guangxi promised penguins but visitors found inflatables. In 2013, a Tibetan Mastiff was passed off as an African cat in a Henan zoo. There have also been several cases of donkeys painted to look like zebras.

Zoo in crisis due to the pandemic

While beneficial to local tourism, many zoos, especially smaller ones, are "struggling to survive today", largely due to the pandemic. In January, a popular zoo in the eastern city of Nanjing asked the public for donations, revealing that it was unable to pay its employees' salaries as a direct result of the pandemic. The same zoo where the Rottweiler was held is located near Wuhan, the epicenter of Covid-19.

Animals are the ones who are paying the highest price. More and more are those infected by humans and died in zoos due to Covid. The pandemic has done nothing but show how useless and dangerous they are.

One more reason to close zoos and give poor prisoners freedom, not only in China but around the world.
