A video posted recently on YouTube would show a Fukushima rabbit born without ears. Is it the fault of the nuclear disaster?
He is about to end up run over, his mother saves himWhether it is an original or a fake has yet to be ascertained, but news has come that near Fukushima, close to the 30-kilometer evacuated air, a rabbit without ears. The Telegraph was the first to break the news.
The British newspaper explained that second Yuko Sugimoto, the owner of the rabbit, the little pet would have been born on May 7 in the city of Namie, just outside the 18 miles of the exclusion zone imposed by the authorities to avoid contamination.
Distance perhaps not enough, if indeed the rabbit was born with this malformation because of nuclear disaster. In addition to not having the ears, the rabbit appears to have clear signs of albinism and other traces that could be the result of mutations in different genes. Outwardly, the rabbit appears to be healthy and video footage posted on YouTube they showed him healthy. His breeder himself, however, said he had stopped eating locally grown produce.
However, there are also those who believe that it is a hoax. First, it will be necessary to ascertain that it is not a fake and that the video was indeed shot near Fukushima. Then, it will be necessary to evaluate the condition of the animal to understand if there really was a genetic mutation and if it was related to the radioactivity.
