Pumpkins: how to dry them before painting them

Nothing prevents you from painting the pumpkins without drying them, but they will last a limited time. If you use edible varieties remember to extract the pulp to use it in some recipes.

If you dry them, you can reuse them even after years, avoiding waste. But in this case you have to use ornamental gourds.

How to proceed? Tie a string around the stem and hang them in an open, dry place not exposed to direct sunlight. You can also place them on the windowsill or in a wooden container, side by side, and store them for a month in a dry place, turning them frequently.
