Owner Lisa from Heavitree, a small English town got the call from the vets. “She's chipped so they could warn me and tell me what happened. Someone had seen the suffering cat and left it in the clinic, ”said the distraught woman.
“They said they had my cat and they shot him. He was absolutely shocking. I expected them to tell me that he had been run over, not that he had been shot ".
The vet explained to Lisa that an X-ray showed an air pistol pellet in the cat's spine. This is why the cat was paralyzed. "It has no sensitivity in three of its legs and I was told it may not survive," explained Lisa.

It was not possible to extract the pellet and the cat is in a lot of pain, so the vets opted for suppression. A hard blow for Lisa and her children: Nermal is part of their family and has been with them since he was a puppy.
“It's really sad what happened to him. He is an important part of our family and is much loved. I don't know how or why it happened and I wouldn't want to judge the person who did it, ”she said. "Maybe they don't realize the pain they've caused or they don't care."
