No more “Fantastica 140” line, Atac removes the tribute to Gianni Rodari on the Rome stops

A mysterious bus line, Fantastica n.140, has appeared in the hamlet of Trullo in Rome, a tribute to the fables of Gianni Rodari

No more F140 line, the “Fantastica” line dedicated to Gianni Rodari has been removed from the Atac from the two stops on which it was “installed” by anonymous artists.

A truly fantastic line, the n.140, had suddenly appeared at the Trullo, a district of Rome. Another, shortly after, also in Largo Arenula, in the historic center.

The news has made the rounds of social networks, thanks to the sharing of Edizioni El and many fans of Gianni Rodari's fairy tales, to whom the original bus line is dedicated.

On the new Fantastica 140 line, you traveled only with your imagination and all its highly original stops were a tribute to Rodari's literature. Departure from Rodari Station, to then move on to the Grammar of Fantasy, Marameo at the Colosseum, I go away with cats, Campidoglio with pistachio, Pantheon with lemon, Piazza Munari and much more.

The highlighted stop, therefore the one where the passenger is, is "The cake in the sky" and it is no coincidence. This story, in fact, was written by Rodari in collaboration with the teacher Maria Luisa Bigiaretti and the pupils of the Carlo Collodi school which is located right at the Trullo. Enriched with illustrations by Bruno Munari, the children's novel was first published in installments in Il Corriere dei Piccoli and then, in 66, collected in a real book published by Einaudi.

The witty and brilliant idea of dedicating a bus line to Rodari was reported to the children's publishing house "Edizioni EL" which promptly shared it on Facebook specifying that, contrary to what one might think (given the rich Rodari's catalog of books), it is not his work.

Each stop of the Fantastica line recalled a fairy tale by Rodari, but not all passengers understood it and someone was amazed in front of that strange new bus that appeared overnight. A line that, among other things, has special timetables: on weekdays it runs until 25, while on Sundays all night until 33.30. But we know that everything is possible with fantasy!

It goes without saying that Gianni Rodari's fans have definitely appreciated this and a real hunt has started to try to understand who is behind the initiative.

Too bad it was removed ...
