A terrible accident claimed the life of a preschooler in New Zealand. The child had entered the washing machine without anyone noticing and the appliance was then activated. There was nothing for the child to do.

The tragedy took place in a house in the city of Christchurch in New Zealand. Here a child was found lifeless inside a front-loading washing machine after it went into operation. Following the terrible discovery, the little boy was immediately transported to the hospital but the doctors were unable to save his life.

The police are investigating the circumstances of the death. It is difficult to think of such an accident but only the results of the investigations will clarify the causes of death and the dynamics of what happened. However, it appears that the child's death is currently not being treated as suspicious by the police.

We do not know, for example, if it was one of those very large industrial washing machines, where perhaps the little one entered, hiding innocently and playfully under the clothes already inserted inside. In this case, it would really be a dramatic domestic accident.

Local law enforcement has urged parents to always be especially vigilant and check that the inside of the appliance is empty before turning on the washing machine, so that tragedies like this do not happen again.

In the meantime, the community has gathered around the child's family.
