In September 2013 the great and beloved teacher Hayao Miyazaki announced that he wanted to withdraw from the world of animation. It's really like this? To find out, do not miss the appointment with the interview film in which the Japanese director talks about his secrets and tells about his emotions.

It is called symbolically “Never ending man” and is distributed by Nexo Digital but will only be in cinemas on November 14th. In the documentary, the undisputed master of Japanese animation says he is tired and can't do it anymore.

But then the magic happens. Scene after scene, he lets himself be influenced by an idea that came to him while leafing through an old notebook. And after saying, 'There are things I still want to do, but I know I'm not going to make it,' he throws himself back into his wizarding world once more.

“Never ending man” is on the one hand a documentary, on the other an interview, where everything revolves around 'I stop, I don't stop'. Miyazaki talks about graphics, the animation revolution and his farewell to the scenes after dismantling it Studio Ghibli.

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, My Neighbor Tototoro, The Enchanted City, Howl's Moving Castle, just to name a few, are some of the masterpieces directed by Miyazaki who, in September 2013, suddenly announced his retirement from the world of cinema. Despite this decision, Miyazaki has never held back his unstoppable desire for creation and therefore decides to explore new forms of expression and new technologies.

It was thus that a director of the Japanese TV NHK who had followed him for over ten years, was able to document step by step the master's rapprochement with the world of animation, this time with the support of young animators. A difficult path for Miyazaki who has always worked freehand.
