Instinctively you will wonder what you did wrong, but the problem is much more common than you think: every day many of us ask the agonizing question: "How can I fight mold?", Hoping that some acquaintance will suggest an invention worthy of Archimedes Pythagorean.

Unfortunately, many self-styled home maintenance experts offer theuse of bleach. Nothing could be more wrong: its components can lead mold to spread further, making the problem worse instead of solving it.

Mold is nothing more than a mushroom which manifests itself in the form of green or black spots on the surface of walls or ceilings, on the edges of windows, on furniture or carpets, in the bathroom, in the kitchen and wherever there is a high rate of humidity. The causes of its spread can also be traced to heating systems that are not installed correctly or ineffective. But this is not the only discomfort. Mold gives off toxins in the air, harmful to humans: their effects are manifested through a weakening of the immune system and with the appearance of breathing difficulties. Sure, this mushroom can also have positive properties - it's essential for making brie and penicillin, for example - but it's really annoying, especially when you expands uncontrollably in our homes.

So let's start with some basic considerations, to be prepared to fight our "crusade" against mold.

Mold is also hungry

After all, it is a living being and, as such, it needs to nourish itself; well, the bathrooms offer you a rich menu. In showers and at the edges of tubs, for example, it is not unusual to see it growing between lines of concrete. In fact, mold feeds on gods deposits of organic materials that we expel when we wash, and that are absorbed by the cement when we rinse and splash the water.

Solution: starve mold (and not feel killer ...)

Wipe a wet cloth over your bathroom tiles once you get out of the shower so that mold has no chance to start feeding on any residue. This simple preventive rule will allow you to avoid the use of harmful chemicals to remedy any damage.

Mold has a crush on moisture

Just like us, it cannot live on food alone: it also needs water, or rather water vapor. When we take a hot shower or bath, the steam concentrates on the ceiling, walls and even the tiles.

Solution: Keep the bathroom dry with a fan

The best way to avoid moisture buildup is install a fan in the bathroom. It will probably not be enough after a long shower, so leave the fan on at least 15 minutes after exiting the bathroom. A timer would be the ideal solution to make sure you avoid unnecessary energy consumption.
