He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

Her cubs had been killed by vandals and her partner had fled due to stress: mother swan did not overcome this pain so great, thus dying of a broken heart. Wildlife activists who monitored this swan after some unknown people destroyed the nest with a brick are convinced of this.

It happens in Manchester and it is reported by the local media. A group of teenagers were spotted throwing stones and bricks along the Kearsley Canal on May 20. Mother swan was lovingly brooding her eggs, which would soon have to hatch. Too bad, however, that some of those bricks ended up on her future puppies, thus breaking the shells and causing the death of the little ones. Only three out of six eggs remained, but in the end only one hatched.

“I am writing this post in a moment of great sadness. I tried to keep you updated on this swan who laid six eggs, three were destroyed by the young, then she was harassed by dogs, ducks and two more eggs were lost leaving only one. Her partner left her alone and sadly I was informed this morning that she was found dead. I feel like crying because I have been following her progress for about 12 weeks, ”writes Michael James Mason who published the news in All about Bolton.

The two swans, lifelong companions were constantly monitors from a wildlife conservation group. After this episode of vandalism that has no justification and that for now, it is not even guilty, the cob had left the nest and never returned due to the stress suffered. So the female was alone for a few weeks, but then she was found dead of a broken heart. The death of the puppies and the expulsion of the companion were a serious blow.

Wildlife activist Sam Woodrow said, “There's not much I can really say. She probably died with a broken heart because she had a partner for life and he was chased away by the stress. "

Another terrible act of vandalism:

Ten young swallows found in a bag abandoned in a field, are now luckily safe

Now the authorities are investigating to find the culprit, but no one will bring these poor animals back to life which are protected by the Wildlife and Countryside Act of 1981. Readers who live in the area, if you have information you can contact 0300 123 8018.
