The tourists who last week were on the beach of the Lake Tahoe, in California, they witnessed a truly unique and unexpected spectacle. Mama bear brought hers puppies to bathe in the waters of the lake.
Norma Alvarez, who was present on site, managed to shoot a video of the scene and posted it on YouTube. The video is going viral and has now surpassed 370 views in less than a week.
Mother bear came to the beach and took her young to the lake where they took a bath for a few minutes. Probably the bear and her cubs were trying to cool off. California is one of the areas in the world hardest hit by climate change and has been trying to cope with severe drought for over four years.
The streams where the bears used to go to cool off have dried up due to drought and now they have to reach the lake to have water available.
From the video it seems that the bear did not pay the slightest attention to the people present on the beach. Spectators watched the scene without getting too close and there was no danger.

According to Andrew Hughan, who works for the protection of wildlife, the bear in question is definitely afraid of humans who must never get close to these large animals. They must not feed them or give in to the temptation to take a selfie - as he explained to KCRA - as such behaviors can be very dangerous.
