Micellar water, what's the use

Micellar water is a very practical beauty product that can be used to clean the face before and after make-up, in fact it works well both in place of moisturizing milk and tonic. The consistency is obviously liquid and the color is light, its name derives from the presence inside it of micelles, or small particles able to bind to the impurities of the skin, attracting them like magnets and thus favoring their removal. The basic ingredient in the product formulation is obviously water.

Micellar water is therefore used for:

  • deeply clean the pores of the skin by removing all residues
  • moisturize the skin but remove make-up at the same time
  • act as a tonic

Its formula is not aggressive as it should not contain alcohol or chemicals such as parabens and preservatives, so it is generally well tolerated and can be used on all skin types. Indeed, it is generally recommended for people who have particularly sensitive skin. Of course, when you buy it, check that it is a quality and truly natural product by analyzing the INCI.

Micellar water, benefits and how to use it

Micellar water offers various benefits to our skin: it cleans, tones, hydrates and balances the natural pH of the epidermis.

It is able to incorporate two useful features for those who have to remove make-up from the face: it cleans as a cleansing milk would do and it has astringent and soothing properties like a toner. It is therefore a "two in one" product.

As for its make-up removal effect, however, this product is undoubtedly effective on light make-up but if you need to remove stronger make-up, sometimes it may be necessary to use a specific product.

Undoubtedly, the main advantage of micellar water lies in the fact that a single and completely natural product is used to obtain more benefits. Among other things, to be sure of the total safety of the ingredients with which it is made, you can also choose to prepare it yourself at home (see recipe below).

Finally, it should be emphasized that it does not leave that annoying sticky sensation typical of some cleansing or make-up remover products and for this reason there are those who, after having passed it on the skin, do not even rinse.

Micellar water is therefore suitable for various uses, for example:

  • to clean the skin as soon as you wake up
  • during the day to eliminate the grease, dirt or pollution that has deposited on the skin
  • to remove makeup
  • to hydrate or refresh the skin

To use it at its best, simply pour a little of it on a cotton swab and wipe it on the skin. Then there are those who prefer to rinse it and those who do not, the choice is yours even if a little water never hurts and can contribute to greater cleaning. Finally, you have to dry your face by dabbing it with a clean towel.

As for the eye area, there are those who recommend leaving the disk soaked in micellar water on the closed eyelids for a few minutes. In this way the product can better perform its functions even on waterproof make-up.

Of course, micellar water should be used alone and not mixed with other beauty products with which it could interfere, creating more inconveniences than anything else.
