This hound rescued a twelve-year-old girl who went missing during tropical storm Elsa in Florida
The scene looked like a horror movie: the ongoing tropical storm Elsa, a dark night and the disappearance of a 12-year-old girl in Lee County, Florida. It could have ended in tragedy, had it not been for K9 Mercy, a sweet police dog who brought the girl back home safely.
Tropical storm Elsa, after leaving the Caribbean, arrived in Florida: hurricanes, heavy rains, winds up to 85 km / h. And again, landslides, floods, many inconveniences and damage, but also fear for the inhabitants. To upset the quiet life of a Lee family, the disappearance of his XNUMX-year-old daughter. The girl had left the house, but because of the storm she was no longer able to return. So her parents had reported her missing. The search was immediately activated, with a very special agent: the dog Mercy, a hound who has been working alongside the sheriff's office for years in the research.
The story of this four-legged hero was told on the Facebook profile by Carmine Marceno. The sheriff writes:
“As a member of Sheriff Carmine Marceno's Reunite Program, Mercy was called in to research. Despite the bad weather due to tropical storm Elsa, Mercy found the girl after sniffing through the woods for more than half a mile. Luckily, Mercy found her and brought her home safely to her family. "

Mercy is a female dog who graduated from training school last year. She works with her partner, Sergeant Rich Castellon, and is one of 700 hounds donated by the Jimmy Ryce Center, a nonprofit organization working to raise awareness of pedophilia, to law enforcement agencies nationwide to help with searches for missing children.
