Mary Poppins, the gorgeous feminist and anarchist nanny

Mary Poppins is an anarchist, a feminist and an anti-classist. The housekeeper has the air of a confident and free woman who comes and goes when the wind changes. She is charming, nice and admired by everyone because she not only takes care of the children, but she projects them into a magical world where she also teaches him respect for other people and animals. She stands up to the man of the house, as her wife, convinced suffragette, cannot do.

The plot

Mary Poppins Returns is set in London during the Great Depression of the 30s, twenty-four years after the events of the original film. Michael Banks works in the same bank where his father worked and still lives at 17 Viale dei Ciliegi with his three children Annabel, Georgie and John and the maid Ellen.

Continuing the tradition inaugurated by their mother, Jane Banks fights for workers' rights and helps Michael's family. When the family suffers a personal loss, Mary Poppins magically returns to the Banks' life and, with Jack's help, helps them regain the joie de vivre and a sense of wonder.
