At just 12 years old a little girl named Makenna is doing everything she can for help the homeless. He started one collection of coats to donate to homeless people in his city so that they can protect themselves from the cold.

Makenna has been organizing the collection of coats for the homeless for three years and has donated hundreds of them especially during the winter. The initiative is called Makenna's Coats for a Cause. Her great sensitivity prompted her to ask neighbors and neighborhoods for help to start collecting coats and jackets to offer to the homeless.

Many people have realized that they have unused coats that have been lying in the closets for a long time and this is how the collection started with great success. Her parents have decided to give her a hand in the collection and distribution of coats and for three winters the homeless have had new guardian angels.

The idea was born when Makenna was only 9 years old and her parents were immediately proud of her, telling her that they would make every effort to help her in any way they could. So since 2013 they have been preparing flyers together to spread the initiative in the Suprise area, near Phoenix, in the United States.

Already in 2013, with the first initiative, 200 coats were donated. The number has risen year after year and in 2015 the total number of coats collected was 872. In addition to the coats, they were donated over 300 warm clothing, including sweaters, blankets, sweatshirts, hats and gloves.

Activities don't just take place in winter. During the summer, light clothing is collected and distributed. Makenna's projects are really making a difference in her city to help the homeless.

Everyone is proud of her. The commitment required is a lot, but more and more people are supporting her as volunteers. Hopefully similar initiatives are spreading more and more all over the world.
