According to recent research, consuming three or more servings of blueberries a week can extend life





A new study found one of the best foods to aid memory, keep the heart healthy and age healthily. It is well known that the foods we eat can affect our well-being, and there is now strong evidence that eating certain foods, such as blueberries, could affect ours cognitive well-being and have a positive impact on longevity as well. The study published in the International Journal of Food Science and Nutrition found that blueberries could affect our cognitive function. improve memory and the executive function. Further studies on the benefits of blueberries also observed improvements in cognitive mood control, which means this superfoods it could play an important role in helping manage anxiety and depression.

Blueberries contain specific molecules of flavonoids, which fight DNA damage and slow down age-related damage. They are also able to protect the brain regions associated with memory from oxidative and inflammatory damage, helping to increase longevity. These fruits have been linked to slower rates of cognitive decline, and to one better memory and executive performance as we age; plus, consuming three or more servings a week could reduce the risk of heart attack by up to 34%.

Positive effects have been observed in the consumption of fruit extracts, juices and whole blueberries at doses equivalent to one cup of fresh blueberries: quantities that can be easily achieved within a normal diet; for example, being very versatile in the kitchen, they can be eaten as a snack or for breakfast in yoghurt, with i pancake, to enrich the porridge, or in a fresh fruit smoothie.
