Surprising happy ending in Russia: 10-year-old survived a blizzard for 18 hours by hugging a stray dog
What comes from Russia is the story of a small miracle. OnSakhalin Island, the largest in the country, a 10-year-old girl managed to survive for almost 20 hours in the freezing cold after the arrival of a snowstorm thanks to an ally: a stray dog. When she was found, she was the little one Vika to tell that she had remained embraced to a cute dog to keep warm and to express gratitude to the animal.
Vika got lost a few days ago around 13.00, about 2 kilometers from her home, on her way home from school. According to local media reports, the little girl had gone to bring food to some strays as she used to do, but she was surprised by the storm. When her mother raised the alarm about her disappearance, the searches began immediately. But for 18 long hours of the baby's baby no trace. Only the next morning, just before 9, was Vika found in the company of a dog. The two were snuggled on a mattress under the balcony of a house. The heat of the animal allowed her to make it through the night, when the temperatures touched -11 ° C.

The fact that the girl remained alive in such weather conditions is truly a miracle - said Anatoly Ivanov, one of the volunteers who took part in the research, to the Russian newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda. - We searched all night, nothing could be seen, our hands in gloves were so cold, it was difficult to straighten our fingers. In the morning we began to think that she would not be found alive. How can you survive such a nightmare outside?
In fact, if it hadn't been for the stray dog to offer her his warmth, the story probably wouldn't have ended with a happy ending. But luckily everything went well and after the tests in the hospital Vika was sent home the same day.
Unfortunately, all traces of the dog have been lost. But Vika and the other inhabitants of the area are looking for him to pay tribute to him. That's right: some heroes don't wear cloaks, but they do have four legs and a tail!
