Usually if we think about bats the first feelings that come to mind are certainly not those of tenderness and love. Yet you will see, you will change your mind after hearing this story and especially after seeing the images of the video.

It is about the rescue of a puppy of To the Dragon ("Little Dracula"), a wild species characterized by a small short tail, which came about thanks to the care and passion of the organization Bat World Sanctuary, which has among its aims precisely that of spreading the protection and conservation of wild bats.

This little puppy had been abandoned by his mother which, lived in captivity in a zoo, has undergone a real trauma following its closure and moving to another place. The little one was immediately found by the volunteers of the association, who thus began to take care of him by simulating maternal attention and even managing to feed it.

How? In the video we see that an operator gently holds him in one hand, checks that he has no injuries and wraps him in a soft handkerchief to warm him. Subsequently, a small cotton swab caresses it, simulating the movements of the mother's tongue, while a piece of foam, soaked in a specially designed milk-based solution, is used as a sort of miniature bottle, which the little bat grabs in the mouth after some hesitation.

Thus begins the growth of this orphan, who becomes stronger every day and learns the natural gestures of bats, such as hanging upside down and swinging (for now between the fingers of the volunteer!) Or extending the small wings. A rescue which is added to the many others that occurred this year in Australia: last month, for example, they were almost saved 100 little orphaned bats, after their parents died following Cyclone Yasi in February, while in January the Australian Bat Clinic&Wildlife Trauma Centre they saved others 130 bats whose parents had been killed in flooding on the country's Gold Coast.
