    Leonardo DiCaprio invests in Runa, an Ecuadorian company that produces guayusa, a drink used in sacred ceremonies by the Kichwa Indians. The Hollywood actor, after divesting fossils, has decided to help sustainable agriculture and in particular the fair drink produced by 3 thousand families living in the Amazon rainforest

The Hollywood actor, after having, decided to help thesustainable agriculture and in particular the fair and solidarity drink produced by 3 thousand families living in the Amazon rainforest.

    Founded in 2009 by Tyler Gage and Dan MacCombie, Runa buys guayusa from Ecuador's indigenous farming families. The leaves, consumed as tea by native Kichwa communities for thousands of years, are processed at a plant in Ecuador and then shipped to the United States. The leaves of this plant, dried and then infused, have many beneficial properties and are rich in antioxidants.

    DiCaprio it's not just financially backing the brand: Oscar-winning actor and environmental activist he will donate all his shares to the Guayusa farmers, transforming them into direct shareholders.

    DiCaprio wasn't the only one who invested in Runa. The investment fund also includes Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans, Adam Rodriguez and tennis players John Isner and Steve Johnson.

    Yet another gesture that confirms DiCaprio's attention to the environment and indigenous peoples threatened by interests economic and by multinationals.
