    In the first article, the data obtained by ben were summarized 10 studies carried out on a total of 270 patients from whose crossing it has been shown as the daily consumption of a portion of legumes and in particular broad beans, beans, peas and lentils, for at least 3 weeks, it favors the reduction of total cholesterol by 11,8 mg / dl and of that LDL, the so-called "bad" cholesterol, of 8 mg / dl.

    The ability to keep the cholesterol found in legumes also emerged from the second study in which the various were taken into consideration nutritional properties of chickpeas, peas, beans and peanuts which, when crossed with the values ​​of patients with cholesterol slightly above normal, led the researchers to admit theeffective cholesterol-lowering quality of these legumes, especially the peanuts and white beans, capable of reducing total cholesterol by 7% and 6% respectively, while the LDL cholesterol even 9%.


    Legumes, whose properties are particularly appreciated by all vegetarian and vegan of the world as they represent the best vegetable alternative to meat for their high intake of proteins and mineral salts, they therefore have two more good reasons to be preferred, accompanied by cereals, to a nice steak.
