Lasagna, the obese cat abandoned due to the pounds gained during quarantine

The story of Lasagna, a cat abandoned because it is obese, has moved many users on the web. Fortunately, she quickly found a new family

Lasagna is a special cat who gained a little too much weight during quarantine and encountered a number of health problems. Instead of helping her, her owners decided to abandon her in front of an animal shelter. Her story, shared on Twitter, has been noticed by many people and now the cat has already found a new family ready to help him.

Lasagna, so nicknamed in honor of Garfield, the famous comic cat who adored this typical dish of our country, is a cat that has won the affection of thousands of people.

Her story was tweeted by ACCT Philly, Philadelphia animal shelter who immediately started looking for a new family for the cat.

Lasagna was abandoned by its former owners due to the weight it had put on during quarantine, almost 10 kilos more (coming in at over 13 kg). The photo that accompanied the publication of the appeal concerning her did not leave many people indifferent, considering that a cat of this size is rarely seen.

Lasagna was abandoned in the shelter due to its weight and difficulties that those extra pounds caused her. The cat, in fact, was no longer able to clean itself and had problems walking. There was more than ever a need for a home that could welcome him and someone to help him lose weight.

Fortunately for Lasagna, Twitter was a great help and only 24 hours after the message posted, the animal shelter announced that the cat had found a new home in New Jersey.

Those who have told the story of Lasagna now hope that this will inspire other families to adopt animals with special needsespecially cats, which tend to get less attention than dogs.
