From 16 March it will be possible to send applications to access the Kyoto Fund, which will allow public and private entities to benefit from funding for interventions aimed at reducing polluting emissions

Fondo Kyoto. 600 million euro available to citizens, condominiums, companies (including ESCo - Energy Service Company), private legal persons (including Associations and Foundations) and public entities for the implementation of interventions aimed at arreduce greenhouse gas emissions. In the aftermath oflast birthday of the Kyoto Protocol, which took place yesterday, it seems that something more concrete has moved towards the objectives set by the now expiring treaty.
This something has a name and is called its Kyoto Fund, and it is quantified: 600 million euro distributed in three annuities of € 200 million each, managed by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP). The Minister of the Environment Corrado Clini announced it a few days ago. As the Ministry explained, it is a rotary bottom, that is, fed through the repayment installments of the disbursements granted.
The purpose of the Fund will be to finance interventions both at regional and national level for the reduction of polluting emissions. Established by the 2007 Finance Law to finance the implementation of interventions in implementation of the dictates of Kyoto Protocol, the new funding system will support at regional level:

widespread micro-cogeneration, but also the installation of plants that use natural gas, solid vegetable biomass, liquid biofuels of vegetable origin, biogas and natural gas-biomass co-combustion as energy sources.

the installation of plants from sources renewable for the generation of electricity or heat (wind, hydroelectric, solar thermal, biomass, PV);
-
energy saving and increased efficiency in end uses Energy.
And in level nationalinstead:

the replacement of industrial electric motors with high efficiency motors;

interventions on the production cycles of companies that produce adipic acid and agro-forestry companies (measurement of nitrous oxide);
-
activity of search for the development of innovative technologies for the production of energy from renewable sources;
-
regional projects of sustainable forest management aimed at identifying interventions aimed at reducing the depletion of the carbon stock in forest soils and forests.
It will also be possible to present a single investment project comprising several combined interventions, to be carried out on the same site (integrated system).
How to get access to funding? The latter, we remind you, are at a subsidized rate (0,50% per annum) for a maximum duration of 6 years (15 for public entities), and are repayable in half-yearly installments. The applications for admission must be submitted online after accreditation in the appropriate section of the CDP website (available from 2 March) from the 15th day following the date of publication of the Kyoto Circular in the Official Gazette, that is from 16 March 2012 to 14 July 2012 and then ship away registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt by 3 calendar days from the confirmation of registration, under penalty of exclusion.
